Yes. The 18th National Conference on Hydrocephalus, HA CONNECT, is scheduled for July 25-27, 2024, and will take place in-person in Tampa Florida. To stay informed and get the latest updates about the conference, we encourage you to sign up to receive conference updates. Additionally, you can click here to visit our page on our website about HA CONNECT 2024.
Bringing our National Conference to Tampa, Florida, is a significant milestone as it marks the first time we've held our conference in the Southeast. This strategic choice is fueled by the large hydrocephalus community - both patients and family members - who have not had the benefit of a conference in their geographic region. Florida is home to a large and active pediatric and adult population living with hydrocephalus. Additionally, Florida has the second largest population over the age of 65 in the United States, allowing us to reach a large portion of our NPH patients who traditionally have a more difficult time traveling to our conference. For those living in the Southeast, Tampa is accessible by car or a short plane ride from Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and other southern states. We are excited to bring our conference to a location that that can meet so many diverse communities and attract so many new attendees, ensuring that those impacted by this condition have access to the latest information, resources, and a supportive network. This is at the heart of our association and the primary goal of our conference. We look forward to engaging hospitals and medical professionals in the Southeast to collaborate with us, fostering the exchange of knowledge and enhancing support and care for hydrocephalus patients.
HA is committed to establishing a safe and welcoming environment for all conference participants. As an inclusive and nonpartisan organization, we prioritize the well-being of every attendee, ensuring that each person feels valued and respected, regardless of their background, beliefs, or affiliations. At the conference, we encourage open dialogue, facilitate learning, and promote networking. We deeply value the unique viewpoints of all participants, establishing an atmosphere characterized by empathy, understanding, and support. By embracing the diversity within the hydrocephalus community, our aim is to craft a conference environment that embodies respect and representation.
